He went on to complete a prestigious fellowship in orthopedic spine surgery at The Texas Back Institute, one of the nation's leading centers for spinal care.

He is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery by both the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery (AOBOS) and the American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS). He is Board Certified by the American Board of Spine Surgery, Dr. Edwards specializes in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of back and neck injuries.
